On-Line Education Associate

Basic Functions

The Online Education Associate is responsible for the development and maintenance of educational offerings delivered via the Web that allow members CME and non-CME learning opportunities. This position works with internal staff and volunteer committee members to identify gaps in the educational offerings of the ASPS Online Education Center and Educational Web Portal and to develop appropriate programmatic vehicles to address the identified learning needs of members.

This position facilitates the development of learning opportunities that support Maintenance of Certification (MOC) compliance and collaborates with volunteer leaders and organizational staff to determine which programs offered in traditional formats can be translated to virtual learning formats. The Online Education Associate shares responsibility with the Team Leader for related budgets, staff liaison activities and assists in managing on-site practice management workshops and evaluates the opportunities for offering online components derivative of ASPS on-site meetings.

Position Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in communications, education or information systems-related field

Experience

  • Three years experience in developing medical education programs for virtual media; five years experience in association, university or corporate educational program planning preferred.
  • Minimum of three years web-related educational program experience.
  • Understanding of current web-related best practices.
  • Content management system user experience.
  • Experience developing and implementing online educational courses
  • Project management/planning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and participate in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of healthcare field preferred.
  • Not-for-profit association experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to use content management system and Web-related technologies; understanding of basic.
  • HTML and editing tools.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
