Keith M. Hume is the staff vice president of legislative, regulatory and scientific affairs for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the chief operating officer for The Plastic Surgery Foundation (The PSF).
Keith is responsible for the overall research and quality improvement strategy and programs at ASPS and The PSF, which includes: grant programs, clinical research networks, researcher education and developing an ongoing and coordinated plastic surgery research and quality agenda.
Additionally, he oversees quality programs, including clinical guideline and performance measurement development, health policy activities and data collection and analysis for socioeconomic projects and plastic surgery procedural statistics.
Before joining ASPS in 2008, Keith served as the assistant executive director of research and society development for the Society of Interventional Radiology, as well as the executive director for the Society of Interventional Radiology Foundation in Fairfax, Va.
Keith earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the College of William and Mary and holds a Master of Arts in Physiology from the University of Georgia. He continued post-graduate training at Pennsylvania State University’s Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in cellular and molecular physiology and autonomic and cardiovascular regulation.
