The American Society of Plastic Surgeons is seeking an Account Manager reporting to the Vice-President, Governance and Specialty Relations, with dotted line reporting to the assigned contracted organization’s Presidents.
Essential Duties
Serve as Executive Director of contracted plastic surgery sub-specialty associations.
Provide and oversee management services to the contracted organizations, working closely with the organizations’ leadership. Management services provided to the contracting organizations include management and administration of the office, finances, membership, governance support, annual conference/convention, educational programming, publications, member services, website, and other association programs.
Directly provide some services and coordinate other services within internal departmental and external staffing/resources as appropriate and per internal policy.
Supervise staff with specific responsibility for administrative support to the organizations.
Position Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree. Advanced degree desirable.
Experience
5-7 years related experience, including management, supervisory and budgetary experience, preferably in Association management and/or Medical Society management.
CAE credentials are desirable.

Education Program Specialist – Annual Meeting

Primary Responsibilities
- Provides support for activities and programs of the Annual Meeting Program Manger.
- Responsible for the development of special programs and derivative products for Physicians and Residents.
- Collaborates from a global perspective regarding clinical and practice management education that meets with established plastic surgery competencies, ACGME criteria, and ACCME guidelines.
- Interacts with various internal department staff as well as member/leadership.
- Participates in Team meetings as appropriate.
Other Duties
- Is knowledgeable about education program planning and general processes.
- Is active in outside organizations such as the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education to network and to learn about emerging trends in medical education.
- Assists other department members in completing time sensitive projects as needed.
Position Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required
Experience
Three years experience in association, university or corporate educational program planning; some medical background is beneficial.

Peer Review/CME Coordinator (Dallas)

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons is looking for a self starter with attention to detail to work in our Journal Office at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas as a Peer Review/CME Coordinator.
Basic Functions
- Performs a variety of editorial duties.
- Processes new and revised manuscripts through electronic review system.
- Responsible for assisting with all aspects of editorial work flow, including article tracking, minor copy editing, communicating with reviewers, authors and publisher.
- Coordinate CME articles for journal.
