Organ and limb transplants have become increasingly popular in the Unites States and around the world. Patients often receive kidneys and livers from donors, and those who have lost limbs are now benefiting from hand transplants.
But the concept of face transplants has remained on the fringe of medicine, until recently. In this clip, CNN's Anderson Cooper reports on the world's first partial face transplant, the disfigured patient who was the recipient, and the plastic surgeons who helped make this procedure possible.
