As the research and philanthropic arm of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The PSF's mission is to improve the quality of life of patients through research and development. PSF accomplishes its mission by providing invaluable support to the research of plastic surgery sciences through a variety of grant programs. Contributions to the PSF also foster the career development of plastic surgeons by sponsoring visiting professors and support the international service efforts of plastic surgeons throughout the world.

Both plastic surgeons and members of the public can support research through donations to the Endowment and the PSF.
