This symposium addresses member needs and educational gaps in multiple areas including: the plastic surgery core body of knowledge and related emerging trends. This program is designed to advance physician knowledge and competence, enhance practice performance, and promote patient safety in a complex scientific and regulatory environment.
Intended Audience
This program is intended for practicing plastic surgeons, plastic surgeons and physicians representing academic and clinical research and industry and scientific personnel interested in healthcare policy and regulatory issues related to all aspects of regenerative medicine.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss new concepts in regenerative medicine for aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast, body and extremities and apply them in practice
- Translate expanded knowledge of fat harvesting, processing and grafting technique into practice for the improvement of patient care and outcomes
- Explain the role of adult stem cell biology in plastic surgery
- Critically asses different regenerative medicine/tissue engineering strategies in plastic surgery
- Describe different types and characteristics of biomaterials being developed for regenerative medicine applications

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons® (ASPS®) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Designation
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) designates this live activity for a maximum of 23.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
5 of the 23.5 credits have been identified as applicable to Patient Safety.
