Plastic Surgeons Warn of Malnutrition in Body Contouring Patients

Practice Philosophy

Plastic surgery is the ultimate union of art and science. The surgeon you entrust to transform your desires into reality uses both technical skills and aesthetic judgement. While you expect the best trained and most experienced surgeon, you also want him to be accomplished in translating technical procedures into visual beauty.

The specialty of plastic surgery includes both cosmetic (aesthetic) and reconstructive surgeries. Cosmetic surgery is performed to improve or enhance appearance. Reconstructive  procedures repair disfigurement caused by birth defects, trauma or disease. Combining artistry with state-of-the-art medical technology, Dr.Fattore offers a comprehensive program of both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures for the face and body. He is dedicated to providing patients with the highest quality surgical and non-surgical care ensuring the best results. Because everyone is different, and each situation is unique, Dr.Fattore takes time to listen to you, present you information and work with you to make the best decisions.

How you see yourself plays an essential role in you emotional and social well-being. If you have realistic expectations, plastic surgery can provide personal satisfaction and improve your positive self-image.

Surgical Procedures-All major surgical procedures are performed at the Caritas Norwood Hospital, or Sturdy Memorial Hospital.  Caritas Norwood Hospital is a 264-bed fully acredited acute care hospital.  Founded in 1917, the hospital has earned a reputation for its high quality surgical services.  The full array of hospital specialists, professionals and medical technology allows us to offer our patients the highest possible care closer to home, while providing the most affordable choices.

Anesthesia and Pain Management-Our goal is to make your surgical experience as pleasant and painless as possible.  Before and during your surgical procedure, we work in close cooperation with board certified anesthesiologists who use the most modern techniques to safely make your surgery virtually pain free.

During your pre-operative consultation, the anesthesiologist, or nurse anesthetist, will take a general survey of your health, and then go over any questions or concerns you may have.  They will thoroughly explain any risks involved and discuss your best options based on the procedure you have chosen.

After your surgery, we prescribe virtually all categories of pain medication to control post-operative discomfort.  As is true in all areas of our practice, we individualize your treatment to give you the most benefit, with the least risk.

Recovery and Follow-up Visits-How quickly you recover depends on individual considerations such as the type of surgery you've had, your age and general lifestyle.  On average, many patients are able to resume limited activity in just a day or two after surgery.

Follow-up visits are scheduled in our offices at the Guild Medical Building in Norwood or our Foxboro location where Dr. Fattore carefully monitors your progress throughout your recovery period.  At that time, he will examine your sutures (which are generally removed within 10 days), and monitor for any signs of problems.  In order to obtain the best results and maximize your healing potential, he will also go over specific post-operative instructions including certain lifestyle restrictions.

Remember, it's important to maintain a healthy way of life by getting adequate rest and good nutrition.  Be patient and understand that it takes time to heal.  Soon enough, you'll be amazed at your results, and the postive impact it will have in the improved you.

Consultations

Consultations-At the plastic surgery offices of Dr. John E. Fattore, we provide the quality, personal care, and comfort you deserve.  Our offices are conveniently located in the Guild Medical Building in Norwood, Massachusetts, across from the Caritas Norwood Hospital, and in Foxboro, Massacusetts, near Gillete Stadium.

Our coordinated team of caring professionals will help to ensure that you have a positive experience with us.  We offer private, personal, and courteous service during all stages of your care.  All patient visits are made by appointment.  At your initial consultation, Dr. Fattore offers a generous amount of time to discuss your desired goals, as well as take a detailed medical history.  He will address any questions or concerns you may have, work with you personally to determine what you ultimately hope to achieve cosmetically, and develop an individual surgical plan to suit your particular needs.

Because your safety and well being are our top priority, Dr. Fattore will discuss your best options, both surgical and non-surgical, and the risks and benefits involved with the procedures you are interested in.  It is our goal to provide you with as much information as possible to help you make an educated, informed decision.

If you wish to proceed with surgery, a second consultation is scheduled several weeks prior to your procedure.  At this visit, Dr. Fattore will review your initial consult, take pre-operative photographs at your request, have you sign consent forms, and go over any final thoughts or questions you may have.  You will also be given pre- and post-operative instructions and any prescriptions that you may need, as well as recieve orders for any laboratory work that may be necessary.

All follow-up visits are scheduled in our offices where Dr. Fattore carefully monitors your recovery and healing progess to make certain you are reaching your maximum potential.

Charges and Fees-Cosmetic surgery is generally considered an "elective" surgery and therefore not covered under most health plans.  However, our partnerships with Caritas Norwood Hospital and Sturdy Memorial Hospital makes aesthetic surgery more affordable than you might realize.

The initial consultation fee is deducted from the cost of the surgery.  Price quotes, along with our payment policy, are provided to you at your first patient visit.  There are no additional charges for routine follow-up visits.

Fees are paid prior to your surgery date.  We accept Visa and MasterCard, and can make credit arrangements if you wish to finance your procedure.
