After months of research and interviewing several other doctors in and around SA it was clear to me that EVERYTHING about Dr. Gary Lawton's practice was superior. His office is very professional, the staff treats you like family, the nurses are comforting, and Dr. Lawton is very knowledgeable and experienced in cosmetic surgery. I waited a long time (personal and financial) to have this surgery and I'm so grateful I was able to have it. I had old Mentor implants and they had hardened and felt very painful, hard and laterally displaced, not to mention very bad animation deformity anytime I moved my arms.Dr. Lawton corrected that and gave me better implants (high profile) more suited to my small upper body, now I finally have cleavage and they are pain free and I feel confident. The time had come... I did my research, and there I was scheduling 4 consultations with 4 different surgeons for a breast augmentation. After all, this is surgery, and I wanted to make sure I found the right surgeon for the job. Dr. Lawton's office had my consult scheduled within days of calling, so he was the first surgeon I consulted with. After my consultation, I booked my surgery date before leaving the office. I immediately knew Dr. Lawton was the right surgeon for my breast augmentation. I was sent home with vitamins and detailed instructions to follow before my surgery date. I was also courteous enough to call the other 3 offices and cancel my future consultations ;) Dr. Lawton has a quirky personality (which made me feel even more comfortable). He is straight forward and very professional. He answers all of your questions and does his job well... very, very well. If you go in explaining a desired outcome, he will give you that EXACT outcome, and you will love it! Before my children, I was a large C/small D, after my second child, I deflated to a large B. Some would be satisfied with a large B chest, but I lost all fullness of my breasts. I wanted the fullness back and of course the desired perkiness after having 2 children. My fear was going into my consult and choosing an implant that would appear too large on my small body frame. I have a very petite frame, and was blessed with a large chest I often disliked when I was younger. I felt like I wasn't portioned well (big chest, no hips). Dr. Lawton knew the exact implant size to give me the desired look I strived to be after my procedure. I didn't question his ability to do the job, I fully trusted him in that regard, but I did question the CC amount up until 5 minutes before being wheeled into the OR. I laughed thinking, "I must be the most annoying patient he has ever experienced!" I was very adamant that I did not leave with a DD or even a D cup size. I wanted my breasts to look comparable to my natural chest size, and comfortable in future clothing and swimsuits. He was incredibly patient, and basically consulted with me AGAIN right before my procedure. We agreed on the desired size and off I went. The OR staff was amazing. The nurse, anesthesiologist, everyone! I left feeling cared for, and returned the next day to have my surgical bandage removed. I was told to expect my breasts to look very high (like pectoral muscles), but when the surgery bandage was removed, I stood in the mirror and smiled so big because I loved them!!!!!!! I literally loved my breast augementation the DAY AFTER surgery! I am not lying when I say this surgeon IS THE BEST! His bed side manner, his staff, his skill and professionalism... The whole nine-yards! My one week follow up went great. This was the first time I saw Dr. Lawton since my surgery date. He walked in, saw my smile and smiled in return. My journey went exactly as the doctor laid out. I was so apprehensive, knowing I really only had one chance to get this right and that my results would be permanent. I had three very large babies and was fairly small (5'6", 128 lbs). I had a severe diastasis recti, loose skin that would never go back, and deflated breasts from years of nursing. I have waited awhile to post a review on Dr. Lawton in fear of sounding too much like a fan girl. However, as much as I hope this isn’t the case, I will probably let some of this slip through…so apologies in advance. I decided about 18 years ago that I wanted a tummy tuck. Because of personal circumstances this was not in the cards at that time. Three years ago I started my search for the perfect doctor, and I looked in California, Florida, Mexico (that is a disaster) and a few other places. I finally found Dr. Lawton and proceeded to stalk him for about two years. I kept waiting for someone to say something horrible about him that was legitimate. I mean no one is this good, right? Finally, I worked up the courage to go in for a consult fully expecting him to tell me that I needed to lose about 20 pounds. Glory hallelujah, I swear I heard angles singing when he promptly told me he did not want me to lose any weight and that all the skin at the top of my belly button was going to end up at my groin. With my heart soaring my surgery date was booked immediately. I couldn’t believe how comfortable he and his staff made me feel during my consult! Everyone in his office is amazing and he is a complete artist in his work. What I want to emphasize is Dr. Lawton is much more than just a plastic surgeon; he is a certified wound care specialist. THIS IS EXTREMLY IMPORTANT. When you decide to have major surgery you must ask yourself how your surgeon help if things go wrong? Seriously you need to play the devil’s advocate and think of all the things that can go wrong when embarking on this type of self-improvement. Please look at all the “plastic surgery gone horribly wrong photos” before signing up for any surgery, as you have no idea how your body will react to your surgery. Then ask yourself if you want some cut-rate doctor butchering you and then not knowing what to do with the mess he or she created. I will tell you this, had I not elected to go with Dr. Lawton I would be a complete mess. My body, through no fault of Dr. Lawton, decided to be difficult. Dr. Lawton immediately headed off these issues and I am now perfectly fine. Had I elected to go with anyone else I would have lifelong medical issues and horrible disfigurements. Simply put, this man is my hero. If in the future I decide to have any other work done there is no one else I would trust with my body. Dr. Lawton is a consummate professional and artist. From my initial consultation I knew that Dr Lawton was the perfect PS for me. He has a professional yet calm demeanor about him that puts even the most anxious patient at ease. I asked several questions which he answered honestly without regard for time, he was never pushy or did he seem bothered. Dr. Lawton preformed my first breast augmentation (which I had a great experience overall with), however due to an issue with my own anatomy, a revision on one breast was preformed and I was treated the exact same way as the first time. In May 2018 I had a Breast Augmentation with Dr. Lawton. Dr. Lawton has a way of explaining and guiding you to your wants in a comfortable setting. He took into account my personal style, personality, and helped guide me to a decision that I am very happy with. Following my surgery I had high anxiety with my healing process, as I am naturally a slow healer. Dr Lawton saw me this afternoon for my one year post surgery. I had met him over 20 years ago when I first realized my breasts were not only disproportionate, but no longer defying gravity. I didn’t do the surgery after the consultation because family and friends were telling me I would lose the sensitivity in my nipples. Some even implied my nipples would feel numb. After 20 years I went back to see him and after he answered all of my questions (which included will I lose nipple sensitivity) I decided to have a breast lift. I could not be happier, my breasts are symmetrical and better than they ever were. I wish I had done it 20 years ago. My nipples are hypersensitive and I like it. I first went to see Dr. Lawton as the breast implants that I had were 20 years old and I had problems.Upon meeting Dr. Lawton I knew right away I had made an excellent choice!! He made me feel comfortable and knew right away what was wrong and what he should do. It was agreed that I would get the necessary surgery(due to being encapsulated). We agreed on me getting the silicone implants as I previously had the saline, and thought I might like them better. I had the surgery on Dec. 4th of 2014 and it was a completely successful operation! Dr. Lawton is an expert in his field and cares more about his patient's happiness and satisfaction than he does the money! For Dr. Lawton it is NOT about the money. The fact is that although the operation was so successful I did not achieve the results that I had hoped for with the silicone implants. IMMEDIATELY Dr. Lawton told me that if I wasn't HAPPY he would be willing to operate on me again and change the implants for me to saline and THERE WOULD BE NO CHARGE!!!! He explained to me to me that I would need some time to heal- maybe 6 months or so down the road I would be ready. TRUE TO HIS WORD Dr. Lawton operated on me again in Sept. 2015 and took out the silicone implants and put in the saline implants FREE OF CHARGE!!! It was NOT about the money at all, it was just to make me HAPPY!!! He is such an exceptional doctor, and he has such a top-notch staff; I dare you to find another doctor like him!!! he is the most kind, caring, and absolutely expert doctor you will ever encounter. I have had more than 15 surgeries in my life due to many different things. I have never encountered a doctor as perfect as Dr. Lawton. I can honestly say that I couldn't be more pleased with the results!!!! As far as the difference between the silicone and the saline. Perhaps some may feel that the silicone is a bit more of a natural look and feel, I disagree. If you are looking for more definition and cleavage the saline is the choice to make. The staff at Dr. Lawton's office also needs to be recognized as they are all excellent!! They are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and they make you feel comfortable and special. Dr. Lawton is a GENIUS!!!!! He removed my 30-year-old silicone implants (both of which were ruptured) en bloc!!!!!! Not only did he get everything, he did it a way that it looks like I had a lift - even though I only had a removal!! I went to Dr. Lawton because I was interested on getting liposuction on my thighs. My thighs were my problem area. I had these annoying saddlebags that I was very self conscious about. Even jeans wouldn't hide them. And although I'm an overall thin person I wore nothing but tunic shirts to hide my thighs. All I wanted to do was be able to wear jeans with a blouse that didn't have to be so long. Dr. Lawton knew exactly what look I was striving for and he delivered! I have been contemplating having breast augmentation for over 20 years and have researched numerous plastic surgeons throughout the country. I always had small breast that would range from AA to barely a B cup. My weight was never a huge issue. I exercised and worked to keep my weight below 155 pounds. After the birth of my son, my weight skyrocketed to 200 pounds; however my breast cup size was a C. Once I lost the weight I also lost my C cup. In 2008 I had gastric bypass after gaining a tremendous amount of weight following an injury I sustained that left me unable to maintain my exercise routine. Dr. Lawton is nothing short of a surgical wizard! He is thorough, patient, kind and all that is important but what is most important is his skillset. I still don't even know how he fixed my breasts for me without giving me a traditional lift, and i don't need to know, they look and feel amazing. Long story short, I came to Dr. Lawton after having another surgeon preform a breast augmentation on me that did not look like that Dr and I had discussed. For 2 years I debated whether or not to have tummy tuck surgery. I even saw Dr. Lawton for an initial consultation but fear and nerves held me back. Dr. Lawton is not only an exceptional doctor but he is also caring, kind, honest, generous, meticulous, and knowledgeable, the best doctor I ever met. I am a healthy and almost 52 years young woman. Even though I am healthy I had met many doctors throughout my life. I have grown up kids and I had been treated by and seen innumerable doctors but I never met a doctor as amazing and humanitarian as Dr. Lawton. In 2015 Dr. Lawton performed my BA. My results were beautiful but my body or the right half of my body didn’t react well to the implants thus I developed capsular contracture on my right side just few weeks after my surgery. Dr. Lawton performed a revision right after and free of charge. The results again perfection. I followed Dr. Lawton instructions after the surgery, daily massages and Cingular to help my body to agree and no reject the implant, it was a constant battle. Let me begin to say searching for the right plastic surgeon took me years as I wanted to make sure I made the right choice on who I was willing to allow to perform this cosmetic surgery. I had a BA 10 months ago. This was something I've wanted to do for many, many years. Finally, after raising my children to adulthood and no longer having that responsibility, I decided to focus on myself. At the time of the surgery, I was 53 yo. I was concerned that it might be "too late" but I went for a consultation anyway. Dr. Lawton and his staff put me at ease right away. He told me it wasn't too late to have a breast augmentation. Dr. Lawton is very direct and honest. He Will tell you like it is without sugarcoating it to ensure your safety. I went to Dr. Lawton for consultation on a mommy makeover. Dr. Lawton shared with me his practices on what what and how he did the bellybutton and where he would make the incision for the breast.. based on his practices I was sold. I told him I didn’t want boobs that make me look fatter, I wanted to use my own belly button and not re-create one because I didn’t want to look fake. I was doing short breaths and noticed that I had absolutely no core strength. so the highlight of my mommy makeover has been the ability of being able to breathe normally... full breath‘s and my stomach not feeling like it’s never going to stop expanding. That feeling like I’m doing double work and exhausted this was to conceal how much my stomach would expand. When I would just breathe normal my stomach would expand so far out I look 4 months pregnant I weigh 160 I’m postop 16 days and again my highlight has been by far the ability of being able to breathe freely thank you Dr. Lawton for that!! if I had to do that again I’d say yes 10,000 times!!! His incision on my stomach was a beautiful line -clean he started my incision where my C-sections- were. I chose Dr.Lawton after my first visit - I had no desire to see anyone else - his self assuredness cane across loud and strong - so note to self: Look no further Dr, Lawton is the one... And I was right!!! Ladies this is THE PLASTIC SURGEON you want - TRUST ME!! I’ve had 3 previous breast augmentations.., My husband is an anesthesiologist and I commented to him the night before my surgery, “I’ve Never had a plastic surgeon meet my expectations with my 3 previous breast augmentations.” My husband responded, “maybe you’d expectations are too high.” My reply, “Perhaps I’ve never had the right surgeon.” Well here I am one day post op and not only did Dr. Lawton meet my expectations, he exceeded any and all of my expectations.. Dr. Lawton is not only an artist and perfectionist, but also a holistic care provider. He provided a plethora of supplements to aid in healing and recovering, which also reduced sweeping, inflation, and bruising, without being brutal on my body. My breasts are perfect and I had almost no bruising (all I had were small bruises around my tiny incision). He made me feel calm and assured in my decision throughout the entire process. I chose Dr. Lawton after several years of research. I've known several people that have gone to him for their breast augmentation and they all looked great. Finally, two years ago, for my 30th birthday, I decided to get my BA after years of wanting it. Last night Dr. Lawton just did my second surgery. I was having rippling in my left breast and I told him that I had pain there and he scheduled me the following week for implant removal and replacement. He's taken such good care of me. My experience with Gary Lawton was he was extremely professional and he also was patient with me explaining the procedure that he was going to perform. I am 61 and have had 3 prior surgeries for the same problem every 8 to 10 years. The Dr. explained that if it happened again it would not be at the great cost is has been all along and he would still be here to take care of me. The Staff and the Tru Med clinic are awesome and the Before surgery care and After surgery care was excellent. The Tru Med clinic is a welcomed change from all my other surgeries. If I every need any kind of surgery I will be back with them for the complete care they offer. Again Dr. Lawton does it right from the beginning to end. - isieblack
