Meet Dr. Julia Spears
Dr. Spears, MD is a plastic surgeon with significant teaching experience. She is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In 1987, Dr. Spears completed her Bachelor of Science and graduated Summa Cum Laude at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She completed the University of Pennsylvania's Post-Baccalaureate Program in 1992. Dr. Spears finished her M.D. at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1996. She underwent general surgery training at Temple University Hospital before continuing her residency in the Section of Plastic Surgery and joined the faculty at Temple University Hospital as an assistant professor. Over the next 7 years, she became an associate professor of plastic surgery and assistant program director of the residency program. In 2007, she joined Dr. Amit Mitra in the formation of Hahnemann Center for Plastic, Cosmetic and Hand Surgery and became an assistant professor at Drexel University. Dr. Spears is an expert in her field and she brings her wealth of knowledge to every patient conversation. Dr. Spears, is the owner and founder of Metropolitan Plastic Surgery based in Marlton, NJ, and she was born and raised in Philadelphia are and currently besides in Mount Laurel NJ.

Upon my arrival for my appointment, I was greeted by two friendly receptionists. Both appeared courteous and knowledgeable in the performance of their duties. My wait was not long and I was offered coffee, etc. as I filled out my forms. Dr. Spears' demeanor was very professional and warm. She put me at ease as she assured me that she could help resolve my facial skin issue. All in all, it was a great first visit and I plan to continue future visitations as needed.
Honestly, after having a bad experience with another plastic surgeon I was a little apprehensive. However, She made my experience amazing! She was very kind and informative! She answered any questions I had and made me full comfortable and confident in moving forward with surgery! I would definitely recommend her to others!

I had a surgical procedure in Dr. Spears office. As an RN, I felt safe and well cared for. Dr. Spears and her staff were concerned for my comfort throughout the entire 5 hour procedure, as well as post procedure. I am very happy that I found Dr. Spears. I had the same procedure done a year prior, with poor results. The surgeons and procedures were like night and day, comparatively. Dr. Spears is truly an excellent plastic surgeon and I recommend her highly to anyone contemplating plastic surgery.
Dr. Julia Spears has done a phenomenal job on my surgery. She made me feel comfortable and confident with my decision to get the surgery. Now that we are in the post surgical phase, she takes her time evaluating the surgical cite and cares for me on a weekly basis. I have been to several doctors for help and all of them were dismissive and berating. I talked to a friend who suggested Dr Spears. I am having surgery soon -The staff and Dr Spears have been so patient and kind to me I don't feel like my anxiety about the surgery is just something I should "get over" as the other doctor suggested. I feel safe and not pushed away because it is condsidered "minor surgery"
Dr. Spears all of her staff are extremely kind, caring and genuine. I could not be happier with the results of my procedure!! I left another practice that I had been going to for years as it felt it had lost a personal touch. I definitely found it again here!
