Dr. Michael Cohen, founder and Medical Director of the Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland, is recognized as one of the leading plastic surgeons in the nation.  With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Cohen has performed thousands of procedures for the face, body and breasts – creating natural, beautiful results that help his patients’ look and feel their best. 

As an international Breast Specialist, Dr. Cohen has the prestigious honor of being selected as a Top Surgeon in Mentor’s LEAD program (Leadership, Experience and Development in Breast Augmentation).  While continually perfecting his surgical techniques with the latest technology and products, Dr. Cohen travels internationally to research innovative surgical methods. Most recently, Dr. Cohen was invited to collaborate with Dr. Victoria Klinimken of Stockholm, Sweden on new solutions for Breast Revision.

Dr. Cohen is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. As a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, he is among a select group of board certified plastic surgeons that have attained the highest level of achievement in cosmetic surgical training, continuing education and clinical experience.  In addition, Dr. Cohen is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons

Dr. Cohen completed his plastic surgery residency at Stanford University Medical Center and general surgery residency at Boston University. A graduate of the Tulane University School of Medicine, he is fellowship-trained in cosmetic, micro-vascular and burn surgery.

In addition to breast surgery, Dr. Cohen  performs cosmetic surgery for the face and body, including face lifts, eyelid surgery, abdominoplasty (tummy tucks), liposuction and labiaplasty.  

Consultations

After your initial our highly trained and professional staff will welcome you with stellar service. We will schedule an appointment at your convenience, for a private consultation with Dr. Cohen. At that time you can openly discuss your needs together with the doctor to determine the optional course of treatment. Subsequent to you meeting Dr. Cohen you will vidsit our cosmetic coordinatorarrange the details of your surgery including a covenient date and time. She will provide you with a customized manual detailing aspects of your procedure from preparation through post-operative care. At that time you can also discuss financing options, and any other concerns you may have.

Facilities

For your privacy, convenience and comfort, the Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland has an onsite surgical facility, the Bellona Surgery Center.  Because safety is our first concern, our facility meets the most stringent requirements. We are certified by Medicare and licenced by the state of Maryland as an ASC, since 2005.  Every surgical procedure is performed with Board Certified Anesthesiologists and Registered Nurses.

We are one of the few outpatient surgical facilities to earn accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).  This high-level accreditation is proof of our commitment to the highest quality patient care, and signifies that we have met the rigorous standards of a nationally recognized third party.
