Corporate and Foundation Development Manager

The Corporate and Foundation Development Manager will work in concert with the Vice President of Education, Meetings and Development to devise and execute strategies that yield commercial and grant support of annual programs of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and its foundation, The Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF). The Manager oversees corporate funding initiatives for the Society including creation, promotion, implementation and evaluation of sponsorship, branding and grant opportunities in support of the ASPS and The PSF strategic funding plan.

What You Will Do

  • Has direct administrative responsibility for department staff including staff development, training and performance; Prepares and delivers on-going performance reviews and, as needed, intervention; Works within the guidelines, policies and procedures set forth in the employee handbook and policy and procedure manual; Develops and maintains current skill-sets within Corporate and Foundation Development Department for planning and management of high quality, innovative and successful corporate partnerships and Foundation giving to meet the strategic goals of ASPS and The PSF; In collaboration with the other leadership of the Education, Meetings and Corporate Development Division, strives to achieve a culture of effectiveness and collaboration.
  • Defines annual corporate's funding strategy in collaboration with Society and Foundation leadership; Serves as the staff liaison for the Corporate Development Committee; Collaborates with cross-departmental, membership and corporate partner stakeholders to develop opportunities for supporter engagement.
  • Solicits potential supporters with sponsorship proposals and branding opportunities; Manages the fulfillment of contracted opportunities.
  • Maintains and expands industry prospects database and use it to lead industry communications and marketing plans in conjunction with Marketing Department.
  • Determines, in collaboration with Society leadership, corporate and Foundation development rules, regulations, policies and procedures based on current industry-standards, Society and Foundation strategy and relevant external guidelines (including but not limited to ACCME, OIG and FDA); Maintains daily oversight of the enforcement of such; Educates staff, corporate partners and members of corporate and Foundation development governance line on the details of such.
  • Creates and oversees adherence to Corporate and Foundation Development budgets; Monitors monthly financial statistics; Coordinates review of same to communicate variances proactively.
  • Manage third-party vendors, including general contractors; This includes, but is not limited to RFP process, pricing, term negotiations, contracting, onsite activities, bill reconciliations and post-show performance evaluations; Provides evaluation of vendor performance to the Vice President of Education, Meetings and Development.
  • Maintain and advance knowledge to reflect best practices of corporate and Foundation development; Build relationships with other association corporate development and exhibit managers; Professionally represent ASPS to the corporate and Foundation development industry.
  • Develop and execute a corporate partner and Foundation giving engagement strategy; Manage the priority points system for corporate development and exhibits; ensure accuracy and statement of policies are within industry standard.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Marketing Department, to create and implement internal strategy for Society and Foundation areas as related to the branding at meetings and events.
  • Other duties as necessary to support department and Society.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Communications preferred or other related field
  • 3-5 years of management, sales and exhibits
  • Association or Medical Society experience a plus
  • CMP, CMM or CEM preferred
