Director of Membership and International Relations
Carol Christian is the director of membership and international relations. She is responsible for the recruitment of new members as well as engagement and retention of all members and resident subscribers. Carol joined ASPS in 2014 in the marketing department as a senior marketing associate, assigned to membership, The Plastic Surgery Foundation (The PSF) and Fresh Start Caring for Kids. She transitioned to membership in June 2015. Carol has successfully increased both domestic and international membership, guided the retention and engagement efforts and was a co-author of the International Business Plan. In conjunction with her team, Carol has implemented innovative marketing techniques that helped guide significant membership growth and the consequent revenue increases.
Carol's career has spanned between marketing, strategic planning and business development at the Official Airline Guides, Maxwell Macmillan Publishing, Encyclopædia Britannica, AT&T and United Airlines. Most recently, Carol served as the e-marketing manager at the Gateway for Cancer Research, where she managed websites, Google Analytics, email marketing and online fundraising.
Carol completed her Masters of Science in Marketing Communications at Roosevelt University, Chicago. She lives in Western Springs with her husband and has three children in college.
