Staff Vice President of Education and Development
Renée Robbins is the staff vice president of education and development, responsible for all live programming, online education, exhibits, corporate development and foundation development. Renée graduated from DePaul University with a degree in Adult Learning Theory with an emphasis on Medical Education. She has a diverse skill set including project and change management, fundraising, social media coordination and digital content development. Her professional experience includes the pharmaceutical industry, association leadership and success as an entrepreneur.
Most recently, Renée worked at AbbVie, where she was responsible for the implementation and adoption of a new customer relationship management system for their global medical in-field teams. During her time at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Renée was instrumental in the development of the company's Medical Education Department in light of new ACCME guidelines. She also elevated their existing guest speaker series to a multi-faceted providing educational opportunities for all internal staff by building an online repository, archiving lectures and leveraging existing educational materials spread throughout and supported by Takeda.
Prior to her role at Takeda, spent time with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. While there, she managed district operations and spearheaded fundraising efforts for the North Shore area. These efforts included coordinating walker programs, community events, galas and auctions, sponsorship sales, day-care and grade school educational events and coordinating efforts of large organizations like the International Association of Fire Fighters and the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Renée is married to an IT genius and has two wonderful children. She loves spending time with her family, scrapbooking and cheering on the New Orleans Saints. In her spare time, Renée supports the educational and service-oriented efforts of the Illinois Region of Phi Theta Kappa as an active alumna.
