Resident Scholarship Presented by the ASPS Residents Council
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons' Residents Council is pleased to offer 10 scholarships for the 2019 ASPS Advocacy Summit, where residents and fellows will join their plastic surgery colleagues in Washington, DC and:
- Meet with members of Congress from their home district and educate them about the practical implications of policy that impacts the specialty
- Participate in workshops on pressing legislative issues, including the determination of the Society’s state and federal advocacy agenda
- Network with leaders from ASPS and local, state and regional plastic surgery societies
Scholarship awardees will receive complimentary registration and hotel accommodations at the Washington Court Hotel. Registration includes dinner on June 17, as well as breakfast and lunch on June 18 and 19. Awardees will be responsible for the cost of all other meals. Transportation is not covered through the scholarship.
Applicants must be:
- An ASPS Resident member or Fellow member in good standing
- A legal U.S. resident
All awardees will be required to attend Mastering Congressional Meetings 101 on June 17 at 4:30pm at the headquarter hotel. The Summit will end at 5:00pm on June 19. Only those residents who are able to participate in the entire program will be eligible for the Advocacy Summit Resident Scholarship. Recipients must also account for necessary travel time to and from Washington, DC.
All applicants must submit a completed application by February 20, 2019
