Project Well Recharge Retreat December 7-10, 2017

Waldorf Astoria La Quinta Resort & Club
49-499 Eisenhower Drive
La Quinta, California 92253

In December 2017, ASPS will host the first-of-its-kind Wellness Retreat targeted specifically at combating the rising epidemic of physician burnout. Different than stress, burnout does not allow a physician to take a few days off to "recharge their batteries." Instead, lifestyle and practice change is ultimately required to return a physician back to peak performance. Burnout has been linked to lower quality of care, higher medical error rates, lower patient satisfaction rates and higher malpractice risk. This inaugural Wellness Retreat will teach physicians how to design their practice to prevent burnout and what steps to take in order to recover from burnout.

A Message From Our Hosts

We are excited to act as your hosts for the very first ASPS Project Well: Recharge Retreat! As burnout begins to affect more and more plastic surgeons, we recognize that this issue can impact life outside of work just as much as life in the office. This is why we have worked together and designed the Recharge Retreat to include spouses and significant others in the learning and healing efforts. In addition, we need to understand the impact of the surgeon life on our significant others and develop strategies to come together as partners for a supportive and balanced home. We invite you to join us for a weekend of learning, reflection and a whole lot of laughing.

-Dr. Jeffrey and Emily Janis
