- The techniques used to rebuild a nose after trauma or cancer are also used to cosmetically reshape an otherwise healthy nose.
- The surgical skills necessary to repair a recurrent hernia after abdominal surgery are also used to perform a tummy tuck.
- The knowledge used to lift, reduce, or augment a healthy breast is also applied to reconstruct a breast that’s been partially/fully removed due to cancer.
- Dr. Streitmann strongly feels that both types of surgery enrich each other – and as a small practice that’s devoted to the care and well being of our patients, it’s his main priority to ensure patient satisfaction and happiness. When Dr. Streitmann isn’t in the office, he’s spending time with his wife of over 30 years and their 5 children

Patient Testimonials
I called in the afternoon to see if I could make sure the appointment I scheduled that afternoon, in fact, could be accepted. I was desperate for a dermatologist for my non-healing impetigo on my face that I have had for 3 weeks. Caroline told me he was a plastic surgeon but would ask if he could see me or would it be best to see the esthetician. It was best to see him he said as he thought I had probably been prescribed the wrong antibiotic 3 weeks ago with another doctor. I arrived a few minutes late due to rush hour traffic and was worried about missing the appointment as it was a Friday afternoon and what doctor accepts a late new patient who set the appt that afternoon? The small office was welcoming and right away I filled out the papers and waited for an assistant or nurse to come to the door of the waiting room and call me to go to the exam room...I mean that is what every office does right? Well in no time, I was called but was pleasantly surprised it was the actual doctor with my folder calling for me! Wow! That was so caring and nice! Very comfortable to talk to and very quick to diagnose without a wait or having to go through the tediousness of having to be weighed and pre-examined by an assistant. Although I had to self pay due to not being on insurance yet with a new job, I was able to get a prescription and fill it. I look forward to going back to get a consultation from him for plastic surgery when I can. I am sure he is excellent at making people feel beautiful as he did today! Aug 18, 2018 by Kim G.

Ask a Surgeon
Dr. Michael Streitmann participates in the ASPS Ask A Surgeon service. View responses to public questions below.
Natural 38h
Breast ReconstructionMember Response:
Reconstructing a breast to size 38H would be exceedingly difficult under perfect conditions. Depending on tumor location, you may be a candidate for an oncoplastic reduction.
Breast reduction surgery
Breast ReductionMember Response:
I have performed breast reduction on teenagers. They were miserable before surgery, and so happy afterwards. Your surgeon can discuss all of the pros and cons, and then you can make an informed decision to proceed or not.
Is it worth it?
Breast ReductionMember Response:
Studies have shown a 98% satisfaction rate with breast reduction, if satisfied is defined as “would you do it again,.” Find a surgeon with which you are comfortable, and talk to others that have had the surgery. The regret I hear the most after surgery is “I should have done this years ago.”
Septoplasty and Rhinoplasty
RhinoplastyMember Response:
Septoplasty is a covered benefit of insurance, rhinoplasty for cosmetic issues is not. If you are having infectious sinus issues, a CT scan may also be warranted.. Septum, external nose, and sinuses can all be addressed at the same surgery.
Over liposuction areas
Cosmetic SurgeryMember Response:
I would make an appointment with your surgeon and discuss your concerns., especially if it has been some time since your last visit.
Nose reconstruction
RhinoplastyMember Response:
Insurance will usually cover breathing issues, but usually will not cover cosmetic issues.
Labiaplasty
Aesthetic Genital Plastic SurgeryMember Response:
I have had small openings in the incision line close on their own, and have also repaired such an opening in the office once. If not healed in 6 weeks, it probably will need to be surgically closed.
Lifting the tip of the nose
RhinoplastyMember Response:
If you like the tip of your nose, there is no need for surgery of the nasal tip. Have the hump removed and be happy!
Crepey Neck
FaceliftMember Response:
The crepey neck skin will not be corrected with a facelift. You will need a more noninvasive skin tightening procedure to improve crepey neck skin.
Deviated Septum
RhinoplastyMember Response:
Opening your nasal airway should not change the appearance of your nose in any way. Take all precautions to make sure the CI isn’t damaged during the surgery.
Breast lift or reduction?
Breast LiftMember Response:
If you want to maintain your cup size -lift. If you want a smaller cup size - reduction. If done having kids, you’re ready for surgery.
getting weight loss surgery in a month, have some hardness ( not much) on inner thighs, leg swelling
Lymphedema TreatmentMember Response:
Risk factors for lymphedema include, obesity, blood clots, infections, surgery, trauma, and vascular disease. If you are otherwise healthy, your lymphedema may improve with weight loss. Find a clinic that specializes in lymphedema - they are hard to find.
Thigh Lift procedure
Thigh LiftMember Response:
If all goes well, you should have no restrictions whatsoever after 6 weeks with a thigh lift and tummy tuck.
What would be the minimum age required to have a chin augmentation surgery?
Chin SurgeryMember Response:
I would not proceed with chin surgery until chin and nasal growth are complete. Age 17-18 for a female, age 18-19 for a male. Balancing the chin and the nose is important, and both need to complete their growth.
Chin Implant Came Out.
Chin SurgeryMember Response:
I have never seen a chin implant extrude, or become infected and require removal. It rarely happens. I hope you recovered uneventfully.
Breast lift and augmentation
Breast LiftMember Response:
The complication rate is higher when these 2 operations are combined. I try to do them separately. After the lift, my experience is that half of the patients are happy and do not proceed with an implant.
breast augmentation and reduction
Breast ReductionMember Response:
Hopefully, the size and shape of your breasts will be corrected by the reduction/lift, and no implant will be necessary.
Rhinoplasty for patient who had ischemic stroke 2 years ago
RhinoplastyMember Response:
I would send you to your primary care physician or your Neurologist for medical clearance for general anesthesia. The anesthesiologist would also have input for you to make an informed decision.
After deflation
Breast Implant RevisionMember Response:
It is best to have the implants and capsules removed. I do have a patient with deflated implants for 9 years with no issues.
How much do you think this would cost?
Brow LiftMember Response:
You would need to be evaluated by a plastic surgeon. If the difference in the brow position is minor, perhaps neurotoxin injections would be an easy and less expensive fix.

Recent tonsillectomy: Consultation was wonderful experience. Dr Streitmann was very kind and considerate. I appreciate an honest, straightforward approach from my doctor. Dr Streitmann won serious points on that. It was easy to schedule surgery. Everyone at Kirby Glen surgery center were comforting and caring. The procedure went well as expected and I am currently recovering. I have had some vomiting and pain but Dr Streitmann has been able to address all of my concerns post op. Highly recommend
Dr. Streitmann was great and me feel confident about the procedure I needed. Sep 28, 2018 by Jacquelyn S.
He is one of the best. Jul 28, 2017 by Mohammed A.
Dr. Streitmann and his staff are very sweet, kind, and professional. They take the time to listen to your concerns, and take all precautionary steps to give you the best outcome possible. I would definitely refer Dr. Streitmann to my friends and family. He caught a facial precancerous spot early with a biopsy, and removed it all. It's healing quite nicely.
