Meet Dr. Thomas Sterry
The primary concern of every member in my practice is the safety and well being of our patients. The operations that I perform are done within the safe confines of the prestigious either Mount Sinai Medical Center or my own private operating room. Furthermore, I do every operation myself to be sure that the quality of the work done is outstanding. It is my intention to have every patient leave the office looking naturally beautiful without any evidence that an operation has taken place. In the end, I want people to be happy that they came to me for help.
Patients are welcomed into the office by a receptionist and asked to provide some basic information about their health. Dr. Sterry will then sit down with you to discuss the exact nature of your visit. A brief exam then follows which may include photographs (to be included in your record).
After reconvening in the consultation room you and the doctor will strategize about the best way to get you into the shape you want. There may be several ways to achieve the result that you you are looking for, and Dr. Sterry will try to help you to understand the differences in techniques available.
After formulating a plan of action patients are asked to sit down with the office manager to work out the details regarding a date for surgery and whatever insurance or financial arrangements are necessary.

Without seeing a photograph it's difficult to give you advice. That said, you may want to consider either a face/neck lift or some liposuction in that area. There are many possible solutions. I would speak with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area and get an in person evaluation. Good Luck!
Ideal Candidate for tummy tuckTummy Tuck
Back in the early 2000's most of my practice was dedicated to weight loss patients. While I have never met you or even seen a photo, a good rule of thumb is for your weight to be stable for 3-6 months before taking on any body contouring procedures. To find a good doctor...Look up surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons and members of the ASPS. Ask how many similar patients they have operated on and make sure they can show you enough before and after photographs to satisfy you that this is one of their areas of expertise. Sometimes they may have lectured about the subject or perhaps have written in a textbook or journal - this gives more evidence that they truly do focus on body contouring. Good Luck!
Mommy makeover and scuba divingMommy Makeover
As a PADI certified diver myself, I have a pretty good idea about the kind of force required to get in and out of the boat, not to mention every once in a while swimming against currents etc. However, while I do a lot of tummy tucks, I've never had one myself... I would guess you need at least six weeks of recovery to feel safe on your next dive. It is typically at this point that my patients are asking to go back to the gym. That said, please be careful not to perform too much core work until 8 weeks post-op. I've seen the muscle repair fail when one patient did pilates too soon. Good Luck and enjoy your next dive!
