Lawrence Tong, MD, FACS, FRCSC is a double board certified Toronto plastic surgeon, with a significant interest in Toronto Cosmetic Surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Tong grew up in Toronto, and attended medical school at the University of Toronto. He subsequently underwent Plastic Surgery specialty training at the world renowned University Of Michigan Medical Center, in Ann Arbor. After completing his training, he joined the largest and busiest cosmetic plastic surgery practice in Michigan, where he built a thriving practice, and loyal patient following.
After almost a decade of exclusive cosmetic plastic surgery practise in the United States, Dr. Tong made the decision to return to Canada, to be closer to family. He chose the Yorkville neighborhood of downtown Toronto to set up his new practice. Using the accumulated knowledge and experience from his time in America, Dr. Tong set out to establish a practice that offers premier quality plastic surgery services, along with comprehensive patient amenities, all in a world class plastic surgery facility. Dr. Tong is one of the few plastic surgeons in Canada with board certification in both the United States and Canada, with a significant practice background in the US. He practises exclusively cosmetic plastic surgery, and has tremendous experience in all facets of breast enhancement, body contouring, and facial aesthetic surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Investigator and Teacher
Dr. Tong is active in plastic surgery research and education. As a resident, he spent a full year researching the mechanisms of facial bone healing, and he has authored numerous scientific papers in peer reviewed plastic surgery journals. He has given multiple presentations on various topics, at local, regional, and national plastic surgery conferences. During his time in the United States, he was part of the Wayne State University/Providence Hospital Plastic Surgery training program, where he mentored, taught and lectured plastic surgery fellows in training. At the 2010 national meeting of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Tong was invited as a guest presenter for a panel of surgical complications, and was also selected as a co-moderator for a scientific session on Aesthetic Surgery Research. Dr. Tong continues to regularly attend education conferences and symposia, in order to keep up with latest advances, techniques, and trends in plastic surgery.
Dr. Tong has a practice exclusively devoted to aesthetic plastic surgery, making him well-informed on the most recent advances and state-of-the-art innovations in the field. Every consultation is conducted in a gracious, professional manner, personally with Dr. Tong. Every subsequent pre and post-operative visit is conducted with the same approach. Achieving each patient’s unique goals, in a safe, expert, and ethical manner is of utmost importance to Dr. Tong, whether the concern is a wrinkle line around the eye, or a full body contouring procedure. He possesses expertise in all facets of cosmetic plastic surgery of the breast, face, body, as well as in non-invasive treatments. Consultation fees are charged, but applied to subsequent procedures.
The private surgical suite is a state-of-the-art facility, convenienty located on the third floor at 199 Avenue Road. The facility is accredited by the CAAASF (Canadian Association for Accreditation of Surgical Facilities) This private facility includes four operating rooms, and available accomodations for monitored overnight recovery stays. Anesthesia is provided by certified anesthesiologists, and our registered nurses comprise our nursing staff. Your comfort, convienience, and safety are top priorites to us.
