A consultation regarding an aesthetic plastic surgical procedure can conveniently be broken down into five sections: Arrival, Reception, Nurse, Introduction, Surgical Consultation and Patient Counselor Visit.
Arrival: My office entrance is conveniently at street level, and ample parking is provided adjacent to the front door.
Reception: Upon checking - in, the patient is met by the receptionist, who provides an information form to be immediatly completed. She also hands out brochures pertaining to the desired surgical procedure(s).
Nurse Introduction: The patient is greeted by my nurse, with whom contact has been made by phone in advance. A short walk is made to the consultation room to await my arrival.
Surgical Consultation: My visit begins with a short introduction and a discussion about the problem for which the patient has made an appointment. It is usually necessary to perform a brief examination, frequently followed by further discussion.
With an understanding of the patient's problem, I am in a position to discuss treatment options. I identify the recommended surgery and describe it in understandable terms. I include a full discussion of the surgical risks, and I outline the stages of post-operative healing and recovery. I answer all pertinent medical questions and voice any concerns I may have. If desired, patients may look over example photographs.
Preoperative photographs may or may not be taken.
Patient Counselor Visit: Finally, a visit with the patient counselor gives the patient an opportunity to learn about surgical fees and possible dates to schedule surgery.
All aesthetic plastic surgery is performed an AAAASF Certified Class A, B and C outpatient surgical facility. or one several fully licensed and accredited hospital facilities. Choosing the surgery location is based upon its suitibility for the patient's needs.
