The primary objective of our office is to provide excellent quality of care in all areas of plastic surgery. We want to be certain that all of our patients are comfortable and your questions are appropriately answered. The decision to undergo plastic surgery is highly personal and many patients feel vulnerable. The consultation process is critically important and we take whatever time a patient needs to feel comfortable about the decision to undergo surgery. Each patient is an individual and is treated as such.

Once the medical questionnaire is reviewed, you will have a detailed consultation specific to your needs with Dr. Iliana Sweis.

If you permit, your photographs will be taken. These photographs are confidential and will remain in your chart.

If you decide to schedule surgery, we will make all of your appointments, including a visit prior to surgery during which you will receive all instructions, prescriptions and have any remaining questions answered.

Your fees will be confirmed in writing.

Your opinion is very important to our office and ensures that we are meeting your needs in the best way possible. If you have any questions or concerns, we ask you to bring them to the attention of our staff.

Labia Minora

Cosmetic Surgery

Member Response:

Labia minora reduction, also known as labiaplasty, is a very common procedure performed to remove the excess and often discolored tissue that develops along the edge of the labia minora. It is performed on women of all age groups. Sometimes the changes seen following puberty or child-bearing lead to enlargement of the labia minora making certain activities more uncomfortable and/or creating emotional concerns. The procedure may be performed under local anesthesia with or without sedation, or under general anesthesia. Several techniques are possible. The most common techniques are the wedge or trim techniques. Sometimes it is necessary to rule out hormonal causes for the labial tissue enlargement. It is important to consult with a Board-Certified plastic surgeon regarding the most appropriate technique and anesthesia for your particular case.

Would a chin implant alongside rhinoplasty give me a more attractive profile?

Chin Surgery

Member Response:

It is important to evaluate your profile thoroughly before answering this question. A profile photo is helpful, but not enough. Ideally, we would also evaluate your bite to make certain that you have proper occlusion, and that an abnormal occlusion not the cause of the perceived "weak chin". A chin implant may be a good option if you have normal occlusion, normal vertical length to your chin, but just need some additional projection. If your occlusion is an issue, then different surgical techniques are available. If the occlusion is fine, but the chin is short and without enough projection, then a sliding genioplasty (where the bone is cut and pulled vertically down) would add length and projection.
