Plastic Surgeons Warn of Malnutrition in Body Contouring Patients

Consultations
Although each procedure is unique to each patient, the process that a patient follows before, during, and after their procedure is generally similar.

The initial consultation with Dr. Lomagistro may take an hour. The patient is examined and asked questions related to his/her desired outcome and post-operative expectation. Procedures are explained fully. Questions are answered.

Pre-operative preparation involves coordination with the office manager. A date and time are chosen. Pre-operative laboratory tests are scheduled. Written instructions specific to the surgery are given to the patient and reviewed with the primary post-operative care giver. Post-operative instructions are reviewed at this time also, to ensure that a patient and his/her care giver are prepared with supplies and medications.

A patient is seen within one-seven days following surgery. Follow-up is then based on the specific surgery done. Final visits are between six months and one year.
