American Society of Plastic Surgeons Hosts 81st Annual Scientific Meeting
New Orleans, October 26-30, 2012

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - From new studies on facial aging and attractiveness, to a special benefit concert to raise awareness about breast reconstruction options - the most cutting-edge research, initiatives, techniques and technologies will be presented at Plastic Surgery The Meeting, the annual scientific conference of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). The meeting, being held October 26-30 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, will be attended by more than 4,500 doctors, medical personnel, exhibitors and industry representatives in the field of plastic surgery. The ASPS is the world's largest organization of board-certified plastic surgeons.

"The meeting will bring together the world's foremost experts on every aspect of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery to impart their knowledge, research and new techniques," said ASPS President Malcolm Z. Roth, MD. "In addition to the innovations in cosmetic surgery that will be discussed, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and this year's meeting will have a particularly strong emphasis on breast reconstruction after mastectomy through the educational opportunities offered as well as events like our annual Patients of Courage awards and a major charity concert performed by award-winning recording artist Jewel that will benefit breast reconstruction research."
