Video: Celebrating the BRAve Faces of Breast Cancer

Arlington Heights, Ill – The third annual Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day USA, supported by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and The Plastic Surgery Foundation (The PSF), brought together thousands of women's health advocates from across the country for a common purpose – to raise awareness about reconstructive rights and options available to women who have experienced mastectomy or lumpectomy due to breast cancer treatment.

Nearly 160 ASPS member practices from 44 states convened in spirit to celebrate and educate their communities through events held to observe Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day. Events varied greatly, from educational lectures and book signings to fashion shows, spa days and wine tastings. In an effort to bring together these events from across the country and unite the energy of those celebrating Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day, the video highlights above are dedicated to the BRAve women, family members and their supporters.

Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day events are developed by those who have committed to the Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day cause and in doing so have organized an event to raise awareness and donations to The Plastic Surgery Foundation Breast Reconstruction Awareness Fund. The fund supports awareness initiatives, research and charity care.

Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day is generously sponsored this year by MTF as a Premium Sponsor, by Allergan as a Gold Sponsor and by Sientra as a Silver Sponsor. ASPS and The PSF are grateful for the contributions and participation from these leading companies.
