Recent Antibiotic Use May Increase Infection Risk for One Type of Breast Reconstruction Surgery

For women undergoing surgery to place tissue expanders – a common technique for staged breast reconstruction – recent antibiotic use may be a risk factor for surgical site infection (SSI), reports a study in the February issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery®, the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
