Michael K. Newman, MD, FACS, is an ASPS Member plastic surgeon who is board certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery® and trained specifically in plastic surgery. Meet Dr. Michael Newman
Dr. Newman is a board certified plastic surgeon with offices in Torrance and Beverly Hills. He is Chief of the Plastic Surgery Division at Torrance Memorial Medical Center and he is also Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Newman has numerous scientific journal publications, book chapters, presentations, and awards including the Compassionate Doctor Award, the Patient’s Choice Award, and inclusion on the SuperDoctors list in Los Angeles Magazine.
Dr. Newman obtained his undergraduate degree from UCLA and he completed medical school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. This was followed by general surgery and plastic surgery training at Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia campus where he trained in the full scope of plastic surgery including proficiency in surgical treatments of the face, breasts, and body. Dr. Newman was then selected to pursue fellowship training at Georgetown University Hospital focusing on reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery.
Dr. Newman has offices in Torrance and Beverly Hills where he offers the full spectrum of plastic surgery along with a state of the art surgery center and Medical Spa.

I recently got my breast augmentation with Dr. Newman almost 4 months ago. I was very hesitant on going under the knife but I knew I really wanted to get my breast done. I did a lot of research to find a surgeon and Dr. Newman stood out to me. When I first met him during my consultation, him and his staff made me feel very comfortable and welcoming. He was very friendly and understood what results I wanted (natural) and worked with me to find a great size for my body. In addition, he was very informative throughout the process. Well, thanks to the brilliant Dr. Michael Newman, my new face perfectly matches how I feel at the very core of my being: young and vibrant and, dare I say, beautiful. The results captured in these photos have far exceeded even my highest hopes. Dr. Newman and the talented team at South Bay Plastic Surgeons have made this soon-to-be 60-year-old woman supremely happy. From start to finish, I knew I was in exceptional hands. This was not a decision I made lightly. I have been contemplating this move for some years now as I had lost about 125 pounds since having had gastric bypass surgery nine summers ago. We Cobabes tend to be a jowly lot. Add to that my weight loss and, well...see for yourself! Needless to say, after all that time and thinking, I had a number of questions and concerns, all of which were patiently and thoroughly fielded by Dr. Newman. Even more, he made me feel like a partner in this process--he took my input seriously and I left every appointment more and more confident that, not only was the time right but that my choice of surgeon was ideal. To say I'm stoked about the results would be a gross understatement. I would be remiss not to mention my surgical nurse and videographer extraordinaire, Mimi and the amazing Dr. Kirtika Patel, my anesthesiologist. It was a long, nearly 9-hour procedure, and Dr. Patel called me ON A SUNDAY and spent about 30 MINUTES with me: discussing the process, asking me questions about my health and surgical history, responding to all the questions and concerns I had, and even giving me some post-surgical directions to help me advance my healing process. Needless to say, I have zero regrets. If you're looking for a doctor to meet whatever cosmetic surgery needs you may have: look no further. Dr. Michael Newman will not disappoint. I say this unreservedly.
