Brittany, There are different techniques that can be used to improve/ camouflage the appearance of scars. As you have read, most board certified plastic surgeons can perform these procedures under local anesthesia in office to keep the out of pocket expense lower. Although photos can give a rough idea of what may be involved, a personal consultation is best.
