ADVOCACY SESSION SPONSOR: $7,500

A number of key issues currently face the plastic surgery specialty and the Advocacy Summit will be addressing many of the hottest topics head on. Each issue has many sides and our attendees are interested in hearing all of them as they prepare to make their way to Capital Hill the next day to lobby legislators for action on these important issues. Join in on the discussion by becoming a sponsor of one of the following panels.

  • The True Impact of Single Payer – This session will focus on Medicare for All, More-, or None with references to both national and state proposals and international experiences with similar models. The panel will discuss how current proposals will impact the economy, employment rates, and the healthcare delivery system, as well as take a look at the organizations that have been driving these proposals and those who are working to kill it behind the scenes.
  • The Sanctity of Board Certification in Physician Advertising – During this session, the panel will review the attempts of non-American Board of Medical Specialties recognized "medical boards" to become legitimized by being recognized by state medical boards – all in an effort to be able to allow their healthcare providers to claim that they are "board certified" in their advertisements to patients. The panel will discuss the danger to patients and impact on the plastic surgery community.
  • Up-close with ASPS: Breast Implant Safety and Regulating Cell-Based Therapies – With the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) recent hearings on breast implant safety and the ongoing review of fat grafting and stem cell use, some of the most common elements of plastic surgery are under a microscope. While ASPS has been at the forefront of the discussions on these topics with the FDA, this panel will continue to dive into how ASPS is responding to these regulations and forecasting what we can expect on this front for the specialty and on the lives of patients.

As a sponsor of one or more sessions, your organization will receive:

  • One (1) invitation to add a participant to the panel discussion - each session is at least one hour long
  • Two (2) invitations to attend the Summit as a non-member, including all on-site meals and sessions, through Tuesday's lunch
  • Two (2) invitations to a cocktail hour with physician leaders from the PlastyPAC Board of Governors
  • Two (2) invitations to the Welcome Reception Cocktail Hour and Dinner
  • One (1) pre-meeting attendee mailing list
  • Inclusion of one (1) insert in attendee registration folder
  • Recognition in all program materials and marketing related to the selected session(s) in print, online, and on-site

LEGISLATIVE BRIEFING SPONSOR: $5,000

ASPS plastic surgeons will be briefed on some of the Society's most pressing federal advocacy priorities before they go to the Hill. However, ASPS does not work alone to advance these issues and its important that plastic surgery hears how others in the political arena are working towards our same policy goals. Join the ASPS Federal Legislative Briefing and offer your organization's unique perspective on:

  • Mandated coverage for services that treat congenital anomalies through the Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act (H.R. 1379/ S.560)
  • Medical liability reform efforts, such as the Accessible Care by Curbing Excessive Lawsuits (ACCESS) Act and Saving Lives, Saving Costs Act
  • Bans on balance billing, such as the Senate Finance working groups legislation and End Surprise Billing Act (H.R. 861)
  • Graduate medical education funding through the Resident Physician Shortage Reduction Act (H.R. 1763/ S. 348)

As a sponsor, your organization will receive:

  • A 15-minute spotlight to discuss the policy and provide your organization's unique perspective on the issue
  • One (1) invitation to attend the Summit as a non-member, including all on-site meals and sessions, through Tuesday's lunch
  • One (1) pre-meeting attendee mailing list
  • Inclusion of one (1) insert in attendee registration folder
