Dr. James M. Economides is a board-certified plastic surgeon and founder of Ikon Plastic Surgery and Medical Aesthetics in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Meet Dr. James Economides
James M. Economides, MD, FACS, is a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). He is the founder of Ikon Plastic Surgery and Medical Aesthetics in Chevy Chase, Maryland, where he cares for patients from across the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, including Bethesda, McLean, Potomac, and Georgetown.
Dr. Economides specializes in the deep plane facelift, a technique that repositions the deeper structural layers of the face—rather than the skin alone—for natural, long-lasting facial rejuvenation. His surgical practice also includes neck lift, brow lift, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), and rhinoplasty; aesthetic breast surgery such as breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, and revision; and body contouring procedures including abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), liposuction, and the mommy makeover. He also offers nonsurgical treatments such as injectable neuromodulators and dermal fillers.
A graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Economides completed his integrated plastic surgery residency at Georgetown University Hospital and trained in advanced microsurgery as a visiting scholar at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the author of more than 40 peer-reviewed publications in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Washingtonian Magazine, Castle Connolly, Arlington Magazine, and Northern Virginia Magazine.

Dr. Economides is the best, he had the best bed side manners, and just a nice Doctor. The entire staff is do nice and polite. You get reminders of your appointment and you don’t have to wait long to be seen. They are the best.

Always a good experience coming in the office. The nurses and Dr. Economides do an amazing job of making me feel comfortable. Having the before and after photos are such a crazy and awesome things to see. It is great to see how far I've come in combination with the work that was done.
