Are Silicone implants at 19 possible?!

Breast Augmentation

Member Response:

There is nothing wrong with silicone implants under 22. They are not fda approved for patients under 22 so it makes it “off label” use of implants but there is nothing wrong with that. If you are undergoing an augmentation you should be able to choose which implant you want and from 18 to 22 shouldn’t make a difference.

Skin rejuvenation and resurfacing

Member Response:

I would have to see pictures but you might need a combination of things I would likely start with prp ,prf possible exosomes to help improve skin quality and build a layer between scar and dermis then once softened up try some fat. But a lot would depend on physical examination and seeing what was exactly done

Academic setting or private practice?

Breast Reconstruction

Member Response:

Do your research both can get you great results. If you are having a DIEP make sure you go to someone who does a lot of flaps and not someone that does 1-2 a month. The service level is sometimes much different as you may get more one on one care with your surgeon in a private setting vs an academic setting. In my practice we do 2-4 patients a week and it’s my brother and I and an NP. Most cases take us between 6-8 hrs. Some places it takes 10-14 hr on a regular bases. You have to feel comfortable with your surgeon and look at before and after pictures. Some may do the DIEPs and be great at them but aesthetically not care. I work to have my patients build their confidence back to preop levels or even better which comes with lots of work in the second stage with reshaping the breast and body.

Nipple sparing mastectomy

Breast Reconstruction

Member Response:

There is not a percentage its location of tumor, the nipple position, type of reconstruction that are important. Also sometimes depends on skill level of the breast surgeon.

Shelf after umbilical float tummy tuck

Tummy Tuck

Member Response:

Are you able to tell us more about your surgery. Float tummy tuck could mean a lot of things!! Did he just elevate the skin and close or did he do a muscle repair and was there any liposuction. Also some history from you such as weightloss or having kids that caused you to have the surgery. Also need pics and see where the belly button is located?

Breast Reduction

Member Response:

You can get these to look better. I would suggest scar revision, use of mesh to support the Lower pole, and for the right nipple I would skin graft an areola and get it tattooed.

The muscles do stretch over time. It’s important to have a diet and exercise plan postoperatively to decrease visceral fat and build core strength.

Upper cheek fat removal

Cheek Reduction

Member Response:

I would recommend a deep plane face lift which will reposition the fat and tissues where they belong. Over time you have had loss of volume of upper cheeks and skin and soft tissue laxity from gravity. Just removing that fat will not solve your problem and may cause other problems.

By just revising the scar or steroid injections you may be able to fix this.. I would massage this area as this may soften this up.

Please Help Me

Breast Implant Removal

Member Response:

This may be breast implant illness from implants or you may have set off an inflammatory process. I would try a low inflammatory diet. Also would suggest a liver detox and probiotics to restore your gut bacteria . Once your body has healed and if there is still an issue then look at removing the implants. Main thing will be decreasing the inflammatory process.

Consultation breast reduction

Breast Reduction

Member Response:

It is very normal to feel nervous during your consultation. Even as physicians we get nervous going to our doctors appointments. Breast reduction is a life changing surgery and most patients are very happy with their results. During the consultation we will first go through what are the issues you are having as well as talk about your goals and desires. Then we we do an examination make sure there are no masses or lesions and do measurements to estimate amount of tissue that would be removed. In some instances we can provide you with what your breasts may look like postoperatively. We will also obtain pictures and answer any questions. We can also mark out what incisions need to be made. Since you are a minor you would need a chaperone. We know that the original consultation might be too much and if you would like to have another visit prior to surgery we offer in person and virtual consultations.
