Meet Dr. Rukmini Rednam
Dr. Rukmini "Vinaya" Rednam is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, practicing in Houston and The Woodlands, Texas. She treats patients from across the United States and around the world who seek cosmetic and reconstructive surgery with a focus on natural, confident results.
Dr. Rednam earned her medical degree at The University of Missouri-Columbia and completed her plastic surgery residency at the University of Kentucky and her aesthetic fellowship at the University of Florida. She is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Her practice centers on breast augmentation, breast lift, tummy tuck, mommy makeover, body lifts, liposuction, and facial rejuvenation, with particular expertise in body contouring after massive weight loss, including skin removal and reshaping for patients who have lost significant weight through bariatric surgery, GLP-1 medications, or lifestyle change. She is co-editor of the forthcoming Springer textbook The After Body: A Guide to Post-Massive Weight Loss Transformation, a surgical reference for all specialties involved in the care of patients after major weight loss with a focus on plastic surgery.
Dr. Rednam's path to medicine began with her grandmother, a pediatrician in India at a time when few women practiced medicine, who cared not only for her patients' illnesses but also for their families. That example shapes Dr. Rednam's approach today: thorough, honest consultations, realistic expectations, and care that extends from the first conversation through full recovery.
