I'm a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with two fellowships: microsurgery and gender-affirming surgery at Johns Hopkins, and craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery at UT Austin's Dell Seton Medical Center. Meet Dr. Steven Ovadia
Dr. Ovadia is a double fellowship-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon, board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, with offices in Lower Manhattan, Jersey City, and Millburn. He completed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Miami, followed by two fellowships: Complex Gender Surgery and Microsurgery at Johns Hopkins, and Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at UT Austin / Dell Children's Hospital.
Following his fellowships, Dr. Ovadia served as the Director of the Center for Transgender Health at Rutgers University until the end of 2025, when he left to establish Ovadia Plastic Surgery. He has authored about 25 peer-reviewed publications and five book chapters on eyelid reconstruction.
Breast surgery is a large part of Dr. Ovadia's practice. He performs all types of breast reconstruction, including DIEP, TRAM, and latissimus flaps, implant-based reconstruction, oncoplastic breast surgery, and nipple reconstruction. He also performs breast reduction, breast lift, breast augmentation, and breast revision, including revision of surgery performed elsewhere.
Gender-affirming surgery is another focus of Dr. Ovadia's practice. He performs top surgery, facial feminization surgery, body feminization, and vaginoplasty.
His craniofacial training carries into his facial surgery, including facelift, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, and lip lift. He also performs tummy tuck, liposuction, lipedema surgery, body contouring after weight loss, craniofacial surgery for children and adults, lymphedema surgery, and silicone removal.
Dr. Ovadia grew up on Long Island with his seven brothers and sisters. He speaks English and Spanish.
