Board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Brian M. Derby was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. After graduating with his medical degree in Tampa, Dr. Derby spent six years in a highly selective plastic surgery residency, followed by two additional years of elective fellowship study under the supervision of world-renowned plastic surgeons. After completing his education in 2015, Dr. Derby brought his expertise back to Florida as a partner in the practice of Sarasota Plastic Surgery Center.

Dr. Brian Derby is a board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic face, breast, and body rejuvenation. Dr. Derby is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Sarasota, FL. He is always researching and utilizing new, cutting-edge surgical techniques for his patients. His specialties include eyelid surgery, facelift and neck lift surgery, breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, mommy makeover surgery, tummy tuck surgery, and skin removal after weight loss. Dr. Derby is also highly regarded as a specialist in gummy bear breast implants.
Dr. Derby earned his medical degree at the University of South Florida before completing a highly competitive six-year residency program at South Illinois University’s Institute of Plastic Surgery. After his residency, he joined a two-year fellowship to focus on advanced eyelid, face, and neck lifting techniques as well as cosmetic breast and body surgery. His academic focus has continued into his professional career and he currently has thirteen published book chapters and articles and an award for Best Research Paper of the Year (2015) by the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. He has also been named consistently as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2020 and was awarded one of America’s Most Honored Professionals in 2017. He was locally recognized by his community as Sarasota's Top Surgeon in the Sarasota Herald Tribune's Community Choice Awards in 2023.
Along with his board certification, Dr. Derby is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a member of the Aesthetic Society, the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (SESPRS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons (FSPS).

Dr. Derby has been a partner and operating surgeon at Sarasota Plastic Surgery Center since 2015. This surgery center is federally accredited and state-licensed with two state-of-the-art operating rooms, a medspa, and comfortable recovery suites. To receive state and federal accreditation, over 2,000 strict guidelines for patient safety, a sterile environment, and quality assurance have been met. Dr. Derby also has medical privileges at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, the highest-ranking hospital in the area.
