Darrin M. Hubert, MD, is an ASPS Member plastic surgeon who is board certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery® and trained specifically in plastic surgery. Meet Dr. Darrin Hubert

Dr. Hubert was born and raised in western Pennsylvania.  For his college degree, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Rochester, where he was also an Academic All-American and captain of the men's basketball team.  He then completed his medical school and residency training in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania, one of the top Ivy League medical schools and hospitals.  His training also included extensive experience at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which is consistently ranked as one of the best pediatric hospitals in the nation.  Dr. Hubert has presented his research and ideas at regional and national meetings and has published on these topics.  Dr. Hubert's clinical interests include cosmetic surgery of the face and body, breast surgery, and complex reconstructive plastic surgery including reconstructive microsurgery, especially DIEP flap breast reconstruction.  Having moved to the Richmond area to be closer to family, Dr. Hubert has practiced plastic surgery and lived in Richmond since 2009, and is a parishioner at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.  Outside of work, Dr. Hubert enjoys spending time with his wife, also a physician, specializing in radiology, and three children. Facilities

Dr. Hubert performs outpatient surgery at the MEDRVA West Creek Surgery Center, an AAAHC-accredited ambulatory surgery center conveniently located near Short Pump, across Broad Street from the Wawa.  He also holds privileges to perform surgery at most of the HCA and Bon Secours Mercy hospitals in the metro Richmond area.  Dr. Hubert has been the chief of Plastic Surgery at Chippenham Johnston Willis Medical Center since 2016.

Dr. Hubert specializes in cosmetic surgery of the face, breasts, and body.  He performs injectable treatments such as botox and fillers, as well as non-invasive procedures like laser skin resurfacing and thread lifts.  He also specializes in many aspects of reconstructive surgery, especially breast reconstruction for women with breast cancer.  He is one a handful of surgeons in the entire state of Virginia who routinely performs DIEP flap breast reconstruction, which involves microsurgical techniques to make a new breast out of the tissue of from the lower abdomen, by removing it from the body and reattaching it to the chest, sewing the tiny blood vessels together under the microscope.  
Procedures Dr. Hubert performs include liposuction, tummy tuck, breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, fat grafting/fat transfer, facelift, eyelid lift (blepharoplasty), rhinoplasty (cosmetic nose surgery), split earlobe repair, gynecomastia (male breast surgery), arm lift, thigh lift, mommy makeover, oncoplastic breast reconstruction (lumpectomy reduction), and implant breast reconstruction.
