Your Consultation

Dr. Horton aims to develop an intimate and strong connection with you from the very beginning of this process. We know this can be both an exciting and nerve-racking time for you, and our entire staff will take the time to help you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

In your personal and private consultation with Dr. Horton, we will review your medical history, explore why you are seeking cosmetic enhancement, and discover what your cosmetic goals are. Dr. Horton suggests bringing a list of questions and a friend or loved one to accompany you as your “extra pair of ears.” She will detail which procedures can help you best reach your cosmetic goals, thoroughly explain all the risks and complications associated with these procedures, and answer any questions you may have. You will also have the opportunity to review before-and-after photos of what you can expect from your desired procedures.

Dr. Horton will offer a list of references to you of previous patients of ours who have volunteered to share their experiences. She will encourage you to reach out to these patients to get a better idea of what to expect from your procedure. Dr. Horton aims to do everything possible to help you make the best decision for yourself and to help you have realistic expectations. She wants you to be educated, informed, and empowered before moving forward with your decision.

Neck lift

Arm Lift

Member Response:

A neck lift has an average downtime of about one month "social downtime" where you would not be attending regular social functions. You can expect swelling and bruising for up to two weeks, numbness of the skin for several weeks and incisions that will be raised for at least one month. Scars in the face and neck tend to heal very well but are still pink at three months, taking up to a full year to flatten and fade. Cost of a neck lift varies depending on the complexity of the surgery, whether an overnight's stay is recommended, and the location you live in. In San Francisco, the average total cost, including surgical fees, anesthesia and operating room time averages $15,000. It's an investment, but an incredible one! Karen M. Horton, M.D. San Francisco Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
