Meet Dr. William Samson

Dr. Samson obtained his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He then completed a 5-year general surgery program at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Cornell. During his surgical training, he was drawn to technical subspecialties. Cancer reconstructive surgery married his interest in caring for cancer patients and his interest in complex, precision-oriented surgical procedures.

Following his medical degree, Dr. Samson spent the next four years training in Plastic Surgery, the first of which was completed at Emory University, which is a world-renowned program. He completed two additional years of Plastic Surgery training at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Combined Cornell and Columbia University Programs. His final year of Plastic Surgery training consisted of a Microsurgery and Breast Reconstruction Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. After completing nine clinical years of training, Dr. Samson was recruited to Mount Sinai West, where he served as the Associate Chief of Plastic Surgery and was the Director of the Plastic Surgery Academic Program. He has participated in the training of over 50 plastic surgery residents.
