How plastic surgery can help you achieve your New Year's resolutions

plastic surgery to achieve your New Year's resolutions

We all make New Year's resolutions every year, but how many of us actually ever keep them? The most common resolutions made by men and women usually have to do with losing weight, committing to exercising more, eating healthier, saving money and finally doing that one task we're too busy, intimidated or too tired to commit to.

So how might plastic surgery factor in with New Year's resolutions? It may seem to be a stretch, but psychology wins when it comes to achieving our goals, be they resolutions or daily affirmations. We can all agree that when we know we are looking our best, we tend to perform better at work, thrive in social situations and even in our own heads. We are truly our own worst enemies, while we should, in reality, be our own very best friend!

Think of a time in your life when you were in a "funk" or a down period (we've all been there). If you know you're out of shape or not putting your best face forward, how likely are you to exude confidence and charge forward with your personal or professional aspirations?

In contrast, when you look fantastic for your age, you're in good physical shape, you've been eating clean, wholesome healthy food, you naturally radiate vitality and confidence. People are generally attracted to positive, vibrant people who project confidence and positivity. For some, plastic surgery can be one way to help you achieve this – in combination with a healthy lifestyle, of course.

Which procedures can help with your New Year's resolutions?

For our faces, sometimes a little Botox, dermal fillers or an IPL photo-facial can help freshen your look during the cold, dreary winter months that seem to drag on forever. Facelifts, neck lifts and eyelid lifts are a bigger investment with more downtime but can help you look more youthful and less tired with more dramatic results.

For our bodies, nonsurgical body contouring procedures help to contour and sculpt stubborn collections of fat without surgery or downtime. Results take longer to be evident and are more subtle than surgery, but they truly are lunchtime procedures. More invasive dramatic surgery like liposuction, tummy tucks or other lifts of the body are most popular in the winter months since several months are available for recovery before swimsuit time again later in the year.

For breasts, some women simply want to fill out their swimsuit top and feel proportional to their curves. Breast augmentation is a safe and straightforward procedure that helps many women achieve this goal and feel feminine and sexy, and more comfortable in their skin. For other women, symptoms of overly heavy and pendulous breasts are nearly eliminated by breast reduction surgery, which allows them to become more physically active with smaller, lifted and less heavy breasts.

"Nothing succeeds like success" is a motto that applies to plastic surgery. When we feel good and know we look good, we are more inclined to continue our healthy, positive lifestyles and maintain our body image and self-esteem. Plastic surgery is certainly not for everyone, but it is worth looking into for many women and men in the new year!
