CareCredit Awards Grant to Breast Reconstruction Awareness Fund for Third Consecutive Year

COSTA MESA, Calif. and BOSTON - CareCredit, a leading provider of healthcare financing, today announced its support for the Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Campaign of The Plastic Surgery Foundation (The PSF) by awarding a $15,000 grant to the organization.

For three consecutive years CareCredit has awarded grants to the Breast Reconstruction Awareness Campaign, which supports surgical care expenses for women seeking breast reconstructive surgery who are in financial need.

The CareCredit grant will assist patients in the Salt Lake City, Utah, or Newark, NJ, areas, who qualify for assistance as established by the BRA Campaign and community based partners.

Breast reconstructive surgery can often accelerate the physical and emotional recovery from breast cancer. However, women with a financial need may not be aware of the full spectrum of possible treatment once they are diagnosed with breast cancer.

"For three years CareCredit has been an instrumental supporter of the BRA Campaign, helping women gain access to vital health care services they may otherwise be unable to afford," said Nicholas B. Vedder, MD, FACS, president of The Plastic Surgery Foundation. "Too often women diagnosed with breast cancer are unaware of post-mastectomy reconstructive options."

"CareCredit is proud to support the BRA Campaign and stands committed to The Plastic Surgery Foundation in making a difference in the lives of such courageous and deserving women," said Greg Pierce, senior vice president, CareCredit.

The grant was made possible through the CareCredit Caring Communities program, which provides financial and volunteer contributions to respected philanthropic organizations that are doing great things to serve their communities. With a special interest in supporting initiatives to help underserved children, the Caring Communities Program is another way CareCredit continues its commitment to help people access healthcare.
