This beautiful 36-year-old female presented with asymmetry in the position and shape of her breasts relative to her chest wall. Her right breast was positioned more laterally on her chest wall and there was significant space between her breasts. This patient received a 260 cc Demi Ergo Motiva implant placed in the subglandular (over the muscle) plane via infra-mammary approach. One of the advantages of a Motiva implant placed OVER the pectoralis muscle is that the implants can be placed closer to the midline of the chest to conceal abnormalities of the breast bone (sternum) and close the gap between breasts. When implants are placed behind the muscle, the muscle itself can act as a barrier to the implant, resulting in wider implant spacing.
