Andre Panossian, MD

Most plastic surgeons specialize in cosmetic or reconstructive surgery. Dr. Andre Panossian does both -- and that's why patients travel nationally to his Pasadena, CA practice. His reconstructive expertise in facial paralysis, Lengthening Temporalis Myoplasty (LTM), and neurofibromatosis gives him anatomical precision that elevates his deep plane facelift and rhinoplasty results. When results need to look natural, reconstructive training is the difference. He accepts patients nationally.

Meet Dr. Andre Panossian

Dr. Andre Panossian, MD is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Pasadena, California, serving patients from Los Angeles, Southern California, and across the United States.

A graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine with over 20 years of experience, Dr. Panossian holds a dual focus that sets him apart from aesthetic-only plastic surgeons: he performs both cosmetic and complex reconstructive surgery of the face. He is affiliated with Huntington Health Medical Center and has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor.

His specialties include deep plane facelift, rhinoplasty (primary, revision, and ethnic rhinoplasty for Middle Eastern and Asian patients), facial paralysis treatment, facial reanimation surgery, smile reanimation, and neurofibromatosis reconstruction. His reconstructive background gives him a structural precision in aesthetic surgery that purely cosmetic-focused surgeons do not have.

Dr. Panossian is the developer of an ASPS-recognized technique for smile reanimation in facial paralysis patients using Lengthening Temporalis Myoplasty (LTM). He has published peer-reviewed research on facial reanimation and reconstructive surgery, and has been featured on TLC's About Face for his work with neurofibromatosis patients. His work has been covered by E! Online and FOX 11 Los Angeles.

Patients seeking rhinoplasty, deep plane facelift, facial paralysis surgery, or complex reconstructive procedures are welcome from both local and out-of-state locations.

Patient Testimonials

I underwent temporalis lengthening myoplasty for facial paralysis with Dr. Panossian, and I truly believe more patients should know about the exceptional work he is doing in this area. Before ultimately finding Dr. Panossian, I spent over a year consulting with multiple surgeons and major institutions, and although many centers are excellent overall, very few truly concentrate on advanced facial reanimation or demonstrate the same degree of mastery in this specialized field. For anyone living with facial paralysis, this difference truly matters, as this is not a standard reconstructive surgery, and restoring natural facial movement requires a very high level of judgment and experience. And what truly set him apart was that while other specialists expressed hesitation or uncertainty regarding potential outcomes, Dr. Panossian provided a direct, thoughtful evaluation and a clear plan moving forward. That kind of reassurance means everything when you’re navigating the physical and emotional challenges of facial paralysis, especially when the impact can be life-changing. Although I am only a few weeks post-surgery and still early in recovery, I already know I made the best decision. Even at this early stage, the improvement in facial movement and symmetry has made a noticeable difference. If you are unsure where to turn after facial paralysis, in my experience Dr. Panossian truly stands apart as the very best. Thank you so much, Dr. Panossian and wonderful team — words cannot express my gratitude for your remarkable work and care!
He is truly a hero, this surgeon, he has changed the lives of many people 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Severe deviated septum

Member Response:

Sorry to hear about your difficulties. A third revision rhinoplasty is not to be taken lightly. It is important to understand the magnitude of what this means. Specifically, there is nearly a 100% chance of requiring rib cartilage to help restore the function and appearance of the nose. If there is septal perforation, then the process of reconstruction will be more involved and will likely require staged surgeries.

I'm incredibly grateful to have found Dr. Panossian. The office staff was also super supportive throughout the entire process. I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much!
Choosing a doctor is not an easy task. I did my research and homework for months reading reviews on many doctors and I made the (RIGHT)decision. There are very few doctors that specialize in NF. The ones in my area which is the Midwest seem like I am just another statistic and off to the next patient they go. I kept putting off my procedure but after having a video chat with Dr. Panossian. I made up my mind. His entire staff made me feel welcomed and everyone was very professional. Communication was great. The responses via email or calls were all done in a timely manner. The office was clean modern and well-managed. He answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease. His bedside mannerisms were the best I have ever had. I truly felt that he enjoys what he does with great pleasure. I have never felt more comfortable discussing my health concerns with any doctor. I hope that I Don't need another procedure but if I do I will definitely come back!!! By far five plus stars!!
Man, I had a tough case. And I couldn’t have asked for a better doctor. Literally..
I love Dr. Panossian’s approach. He goes above and beyond in ways that other doctors simply don’t or can’t.
Dr. P’s techniques are advanced!!!! He was able to fix my extremely botched nose with a CLOSED APPROACH! Which is beyond impressive. He took his time in the OR.
Which I found relieving and smart! A gentle meticulous approach is best.
He is very holistic & natural. I lived with a botched nose this for 8 yrs. And because of what I’ve been through, I was very patient & particular with finding the right doctor.
In fact, MANY people who are in need of corrective surgery’s have asked 1. ) how it went & 2.) who I recommend. I have been saying Dr. Panossian! Right now I will explain how bad my condition was - If it its, it adds context. I am saying the previous doctors name just so there is no confusion between these 2 doctors!!!! I wanted my nose done for years. Looking back there wasn’t anything really too wrong with it.
I’m a unique ethnic looking person. Which is a good thing. But I had consulted for years and built a reporte with Dr. Naderi before deciding to. He said if I wanted it done he would do it.
But I never thought he would reek so much havoc on it & my life. Especially since we built a report for years. I am an easy going person. I’m not hard to get along with. And it’s sad that when I ended up with scary symptoms (that lead to Empty Nose Syndrome) - anytime I would politely ask what was going on & why - Dr. Naderi was VERY rude, gaslit me, ignored me, yet would message me back about irrelevent things in inappropriate ways on IG. Which was not appropriate looking back.
Dr. Naderi completely put me off / caused me a lot of trauma with doctors. He wasn’t this way before surgery too either. So
I was terrified! My Entire septum was taken off and put as a cap graft making my tip look weird. It was upturned, bulky, unnatural. added grafts where they shouldn’t have been making it harder to breathe & weren't helpful at all. AND he Reduced my Nostrils! I pretty much had no nostrils! I’m a performer - vocalist & athlete - I definitely rely on my nostrils! lol. Not to mention Dr. Naderi also ended up badly fracturing my nose with just awful, sloppy osteotomy techniques. Honestly barbaric! I have no other way of putting it… When I went to Dr. N's office for a follow, he took both of his thumbs and squeezed SOO hard on my nasal bones/bridge that I heard a “crunch crunch” I said “OW” I was in shock.
He said he was “setting my bones” Came to find out that was NOT Normal. My bones were very warped.
Dr. Naderi also, without my knowledge, aggressively outfractured my turbinates.
It felt like I was breathing in dry cold needles for a while and it was hell. It made me very sick & had to drop out of school.. couldn't work normal hours. It stole my life. The the one thing I loved doing. It stole my energy. I had to get very painful, expensive treatments. see the doctors a lot.
Had to start wearing breathing tubes, Q-Tips so my nose wouldn’t collapse & I could get by/breathe easier. I lived with this for 8 years!!!!!!! I healed from the ENS but structural damage was bad. I had awful nasal valve collapse & stenosis. pretty much no nostrils! And PTSD. Dr. P had his hands full! And was able to gently correct these things like no big deal! Although breathing has only improved 20% it’s still healing. Looks great, normal, better, pretty. He was very thorough. That I appreciate! He’s wiling to do the things that need to be done to make it as perfect as possible.
He works on extremely tough cases.
His charity work is extraordinary & says a lot. Facial surgeries are tough
The nose is much more complex than people realize. It’s a strategic balance of function & form. Why I advocate for patients strong autonomy. I am extremely grateful for Dr. Panossian. Glad I found him. He truly is a top expert, compassionate & makes it easy! I'm very thorough & serious about my reviews experiences so I hope people find this helpful.
