Feminizing Genital Surgery

Surgery for Trans Women

The goal of feminizing genital surgery, sometimes called transfeminine bottom surgery, is to rearrange male genital tissue to construct the appearance of female genitalia.

What is feminizing genital surgery?

The goal of feminizing genital surgery is to reshape and rearrange male genital tissue to create a surgically constructed neovulva (the outer female genitalia) and possibly a neovaginal canal (an internal cavity). This procedure involves removing the penis and testicles. Feminizing genital surgery is typically performed as a single-stage procedure. There are several techniques available to perform this surgery, and the most common are penile inversion vaginoplasty (also called full depth vaginoplasty) and vulvoplasty (also called zero depth vaginoplasty or shallow depth vaginoplasty)
