The goal of facial masculinization surgery is to reshape feminine features of the face to project a more masculine appearance.
Following your facial masculinization surgery, gauze or bandages may be applied to your incisions. An elastic bandage or support garment will minimize swelling for extensive facial work. A small, thin tube may be temporarily placed under the skin to drain excess blood or fluid when extensive skin work is performed.

Healing will continue for several weeks as swelling decreases and the facial shape improves. Continue to follow your plastic surgeon's instructions and attend follow-up visits as scheduled.
