The goal of chest feminization surgery is to give a more feminine contour and appearance to the chest using breast implants and possibly fat transfer.
What are the steps of chest feminization surgery?
Chest feminization surgery includes the following steps:
Step 1 – Marking and positioning
Your surgeon will mark the area on your chest while you're sitting up to help make sure your results look symmetrical and natural. You will be positioned on your back on the surgical table during your procedure.
Step 2 – Anesthesia
Medications are administered for your comfort during the surgical procedure. The choices include intravenous sedation and general anesthesia. Your doctor will recommend the best choice for you.
Step 3 – Insertion of the breast implant
An implant is placed in the chest to create a defined, more feminine breast shape. The type of implant (silicone or saline) should be discussed with your surgeon before the procedure.
