PlastyPAC | Drs. Taylor and Wandel Inducted into PlastyPAC Founders Circle

In 2018, the PlastyPAC Board of Governors created the PlastyPAC Founders Circle, which recognizes the generous lifetime giving of ASPS members to further advance the specialty's advocacy efforts in Washington, DC. Induction into the Founders Circle demonstrates a commitment to support, educate and influence federal candidates who support the Society's public policy goals. PlastyPAC Founders Circle members have directly contributed $25,000 to PlastyPAC since the founding of the PAC in 1990. The PlastyPAC Board of Governors is honored to recognize Anne Taylor, MD, MPH and Amy Wandel, MD as the first two inductees into the PlastyPAC Founders Circle. Anne Taylor, MD, MPH is in private practice in Worthington, Ohio and has been contributing to the PAC since 2001. Dr. Taylor currently serves as the Board Vice President of Private Practice & Aesthetic Surgery and is a former Chair of the PlastyPAC Board of Governors. "It has been a privilege to be a member in the PlastyPAC and watch it grow into a respected and influential voice on Capitol Hill," Dr. Taylor told PSN. "The impact we have on behalf of our colleagues and patients is enormous. I hope we can continue and do even more of our advocacy work with increased participation by all plastic surgeons."

Amy Wandel, MD has recently retired from her plastic surgery practice in Gold River, California. Dr. Wandel has been contributing to the PAC since 2007 and was appointed to the PlastyPAC Board of Governors in 2016. Dr. Wandel commented on her continued support of the PAC: "I believe that physicians and surgeons are best able to direct care and should be involved in changes in delivery and reimbursement for health care. We have lost this unique position and no longer are automatically included in the discussion. I believe that our effort through PlastyPAC allow us to rejoin this important conversation through discussion and education with our elected officials. PlastyPAC offers us a voice in these important decisions that will affect our patients."

Drs. Taylor and Wandel will be formally inducted to the Founders Circle during Plastic Surgery The Meeting 2018 in Chicago.
