Resident Abstracts

Residents are invited to be a part of the 2026 WPS Symposium by submitting an abstract for consideration.

Submissions will be accepted from September 12, 2025, through October 20, 2025, at 5:00 PM CDT.

Abstracts are limited to 250 words and may include up to one image.

The authors of the top-rated resident abstracts will be invited to deliver live podium presentations in a dedicated session at the symposium. If selected, residents must be registered for the 2026 WPS Symposium in order to present.

Submissions will be accepted in the following areas:

  • Aesthetic Body
  • Aesthetic Breast
  • Aesthetic Face
  • Gender Affirmation
  • Practice Management
  • Reconstructive Breast
  • Reconstructive Facial
  • Education

Abstract text must include the following:

  • The concise purpose of the study or project
  • The methods and materials used
  • Experience, including number of cases and follow-up (only final data should be submitted)
  • A summary of results
  • Reasonable and understandable conclusions

Author Qualifications

  • The primary author for all paper abstracts must be a resident in a plastic surgery program
  • Submissions from staff writers or company/industry writing pools will not be accepted
  • All presenting authors and co-authors are required to disclose all relevant financial relationships or affiliations with pharmaceutical companies, biomedical device manufacturers or other corporations whose products or services relate to the presentation topic
    • Abstracts with contributors who fail to submit or update a disclosure may be disqualified
    • Conflict of interest disclosures may be submitted or updated via our Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form
  • Please be prepared to complete your submission in full, as the form will not save partial submissions.

Eligibility

  • To participate in the Resident Abstracts Program, you must be a resident at the time the abstract is submitted and presented
  • Medical students, fellows and non-residents are not eligible
  • Abstracts previously submitted to other meetings are not eligible for submission to the WPS Symposium Resident Abstracts Program

The following requirements must be completed by the close of the submission site:

  • All co-authors must have an ASPS record before they can be added to an abstract
  • All co-authors must complete disclosures before the submission site closes
  • Co-authors cannot be added once the site closes and abstracts are sent for review
  • Deadlines will not be extended
