Data collection for ASPS Procedural Statistics made simple (Really!)

Direct data is no longer a dream. ASPS is making it easier for you to share your data for the annual Procedural Statistics Report. A partnership with the company 4th Dimension EMR, created by fellow ASPS member Robert Pollack, MD, automates data collection with the 4D EMR software. It is the only EMR with the capability to capture all your procedures and send them directly to ASPS with one click.

"It's a single button push to initiate the process," said Dr. Pollack. "After that, there is no involvement of the doctor or the office staff whatsoever. It's completely hands-off and automatic after that initial connection is created."

Dr. Pollack said he understands the time commitment it takes for plastic surgeons to submit accurate data at the end of each year and developed a way to significantly reduce it.

"The 4D EMR program will now automatically provide deidentified information about the procedures that are performed to ASPS on an ongoing basis without the doctor having to do anything except enable the initial access by the Society," he said.

4D EMR eliminates gathering a year's worth of data by significantly streamlining the data collection process. It allows your practice get a head start on 2025 data collection.

"What better way to do data collection then to remove any requirements for doctors to spend any time doing it?" said Dr. Pollack. "It is a one-time, one-second action."

The software allows ASPS to automatically receive accurate, deidentified data for both surgical and minimally invasive procedures. Connecting your data to ASPS comes at no extra cost when you purchase the 4D EMR software.

Your data is essential to ASPS. Procedural data is critical to the Society's mission to support our doctors and patients. The annual Procedural Statistics Report generates substantial local and national media opportunities for ASPS member surgeons like yourself by helping reporters find trends and stories in the specialty. But wait, there's additional value for you. The data in the report also allows ASPS to identify practice needs, support academic research and guide continuing education requirements so ASPS can provide better services for you. Plus, the data assists ASPS' advocacy efforts to support patient safety, improve reimbursement and drive industry innovation. Legislators and regulators are more likely to consider change when they see clear, data-backed patterns.
