International Residents World Cup
The Global Competition for International Residents in Plastic Surgery
This unique online competition engaged 16 plastic surgery training programs, each comprising teams of up to four residents from around the world. Participants answered questions on case studies and the core curriculum of plastic surgery. Each matchup included 10 multiple-choice questions, leading to a final championship round featuring 15 questions. Every team member answered each question individually, with scoring based on both accuracy and speed. Team members could consult with one another before answering, though slower responses could negatively impact the overall score. The victorious Chang Gung Memorial Hospital resident team included Wen-Jung Chang, MD; Chi-Wei Huang, MD; Chih-Kai Hsu, MD; Yu-Jen Chen, MD; and Training Program Director Cheng-Hung Lin, MD.
2025 Bracket
We are excited to announce that this year's much-anticipated International Residents World Cup (IRWC) will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Twelve skilled teams from ten different countries will come together to compete for the coveted title of 2025 IRWC Champions.
Competition Format
The game consists of 10 multiple-choice questions, with the final championship game consisting of 15 questions. Each member of the team will answer every question individually, and the scoring will be based on having the correct answer as well as how quickly the question was answered. Team members may consult with one another before answering, but taking longer to answer could negatively impact your score.
At the end of each round, each team member's scores will be averaged together to get the overall team score. The team with the highest total score will win the game and advance to the next round.
