Breast implant checklist requirement: What you need to know

The FDA recently issued new requirements for breast implant manufacturers to ensure patients are made aware of potential risks associated with the device. These requirements, however, include a stipulation that surgeons must provide, discuss and sign a patient-decision checklist during the informed-consent process.

Update: CMS resumes Medicare claims processing and pauses Medicare sequestration

As a result of quick work by Congress, President Biden this week signed legislation to stop the 2 percent sequestration cuts to Medicare payments until Dec. 31. Medicare Administrative Contractors, who had been holding claims with dates of service beyond March 31, have been instructed to immediately begin processing claims, with payments beginning as soon as April 19.
